Job Summary
Under limited supervision, performs a wide variety of preventive and general maintenance work required in the construction, renovation, and general maintenance and repair of Parks and Recreation buildings, projects, facilities, and grounds. Performs assignments involving rough and finish carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, masonry or concrete work, golf course irrigation and landscape projects. Repairs and performs scheduled maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, irrigation systems, and heating and cooling systems. Estimates labor, tools, and materials, and interprets work blueprints or diagrams. May be assigned to work at any of the facilities under Parks and Recreation jurisdiction, and may be required to work afternoons, midnights and/or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicants must:
1. Have at least two (2) years of full time experience in one or more of the following building crafts and/or mechanical fields: carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting-plastering, plumbing-pipefitting, heating, cooling and refrigeration, golf course irrigation system repair and installation, and related crafts or mechanical fields.
2. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this class.
4. Successfully complete the six-month probationary period.
