Weyerhaeuser's Southern Timberlands business is searching for a Planning & Inventory Manager to join the Arkansas Oklahoma Region Team. As the Planning & Inventory Manager, you will serve on the AR/OK Lead Team and support work across the region encompassing 1 million acres. You will also have people leading responsibilities for 3 direct reports. Some overnight travel required for off-site meetings (less than 10%).
This is a full time, exempt position reporting to the Region Manager, and is based out of De Queen, AR.
Key Functions
As the Planning & Inventory Manager, you will lead the Planning and Inventory teams, as well as create and oversee the planning and inventory budgets. The Planning & Inventory function also includes road maintenance and construction for more than 5,000 miles of company roads. Land use activities are managed within the P&I team as well.
Your inventory responsibilities will include managing the Inventory Team to ensure the quality of forest inventory data; providing spatial and tabular data service for operations and reporting; and maintaining cruise activities to reflect current data conditions in FMS. Planning responsibilities include managing the Planning Team to ensure the quality of tract preparation and setup; preparing annual and 5-year fee harvest plans, including budgeting; and facilitating communications between Marketing, Harvesting and Silviculture to ensure execution and adherence to the Region’s Strategic Plans.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Forestry or related field and at least 8 years’ experience (5 years in forestry planning or inventory preferred) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Willingness to lead a diverse group of people
- Ability to develop and execute regionwide business strategies
- Knowledge and understanding of the inventory system (FMS) and planning processes
- Understanding of current forest management practices and SFI objectives
- Strong mensuration, biometrics, statistical knowledge, and annual harvest planning skills
- Strong computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office software; extensive Excel knowledge required
- Ability to simplify complex data and clearly communicate direction based upon audience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple projects concurrently
- Able and willing to work across organizational and functional boundaries to achieve results
